COLOR FILTER AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color filter and a method for manufacturing the color filter such that the accuracy which cause problems in the manufacture of a color filter by a print method can be improved by combining the print method and a layer containing a photocatalyst which can easily change the wettability of the surface into a pattern and that the color filter with good accuracy can be mass produced. SOLUTION: The color filter has a transparent substrate, a pixel part having a specified pattern of a plurality of colors formed by a print method using an intaglio plate, lithographic plate, stencil plate or relief plate on the transparent substrate, a shading part formed in the boundary part of the pixel part, and a layer containing a photocatalyst applied to form the pixel part or the pixel part and the shading part. The layer containing a photocatalyst comprises at least a photocatalyst and a binder and it changes its wettability to decrease the contact angle with a liquid by irradiation of energy.
