The apparatus is provided with a storage means 3 which stores map information including mark information, a vehicle-speed detection means 2 which detects a vehicle speed, a retrieval means 40 which retrieves the mark information from the storage means, a display means 12 which displays the mark information on a map and a display control means 45 which controls the display of the mark information displayed on the map of the display means, According to the vehicle speed, the display mode of the mark information on the map is controlled, whether the mark information is to be displayed or not is controlled, specific mark information is emphasized and displayed or the retrieval range of the mark information is controlled.
