PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a polyester fiber improved in adhesion to rubber. SOLUTION: This method for producing a polyester fiber comprises oiling a melt-spun polyester fiber, drawing and heat-setting the fiber through draw rollers and then winding the resultant filament yarn; wherein the lubricant to be used for oiling is characterized by being an anhydrous lubricant containing an epoxy compound.
