PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photocatalyst member having a photocatalytic layer, composed mainly of a TiOx layer (x is a numerical value represented by 1.99<x<2)., which is excitable not only in an ultraviolet light region but also in a specified visible light region and can be formed to a specified thickness which is easily controllable, on the surface of a base and besides, is mass- producible in a temperature region where a common metal or the like does not melt and can be manufactured at a low cost as well as a manufacturing method for the photocatalyst member. SOLUTION: The photocatalytic layer is formed by applying a thin TiO2 film in a dry coating fashion on the surface of the base and heating the film in an atmosphere of about 450-1,000 deg.C for a specified time and then quenching. |
