PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for rolling a high quality of H-section steel by lowering the number of rolling pass in a rolling line arranged closely by respective mills. SOLUTION: A method for rolling H-section steel using a group of mills M2 arranged closely by a four-rolled universal roughing mill(UR mill), a two- rolled edger mill (E mill), and a four-rolled universal finishing mill(UF mill) from beam blanks molded by a breaking-down rolling mill and all the rolling passes in the M2 are rolled by dividing into a first half of the pass group which uses all the mills in each pass, a last half of the pass group which does not use the UF mill in each pass and a finishing pass which uses all the mills. The beam blank used for the purpose preferably has a cross-sectional configuration of 0.8 to 1.2 in the ratio (BFt/BWt) of the thickness of the flange section BFt and the thickness of the web section BWt. |
