PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve image quality of an anatomical M-mode image. SOLUTION: In addition to scan to scan ranges A, B, and C for a B-mode image, scan ranges B and C for an anatomical M-mode image are scanned, so that a scan frame rate of the scan ranges B and C for the anatomical M- mode image is higher than a scan frame rate of the scan range A for the B- mode image, excluding the scan ranges B and C for the anatomical M-mode image. The anatomical M-mode image is thus formed using both data obtained by scanning the scan ranges A, B, and C for the B-mode image, and data obtained by scanning the scan ranges B and C for the anatomical M-mode image. Density of data composing the anatomical M-mode image is thus increased compared to conventional methods in which the anatomical M-mode image is formed based on the data obtained by scanning the scan ranges A, B, and C for the B-mode image only. Image quality of the anatomical M-mode can thus be improved. |
