<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf club which can prevent damage to the shaft without regulating the deflection of the shaft by making the shaft deflectable sufficiently within the head. SOLUTION: In the golf club comprising the head 2 and the shaft 4 inserted through a shaft insertion hole 6 of the head 2 and fixed, a clearance 82 allowing the deflection of the shaft 4 is formed in the head 2 between a part of the shaft 4 yet to be fixed on the side of the head 2 and the head 2, a protective layer 33 formed out of a material softer than the shaft 4 is provided in the clearance S2 so as to be interposed between the shaft 4 and the head 2. The protective layer 33 is positioned with a specified space S1 existing between it and at least one of the shaft 4 and the head 2.</p> |
