Use of bicyclic pyrimidine derivatives with the other ring being a heteroaryl as medicaments; pyridopyrimidine compounds

4-substituted amino pyrido pyrimidine and 4-substituted amino pyrido pyrimidine inhibitors of the epidermal growth factor receptor family of tyrosine kinase are described in addition to pharmaceutical compositions of the same. They are useful in treating proliferative diseases such as cancer, synovial pannus invasion in arthritis, psoriasis, vascular restenosis and angiogenesis and also useful in the treatment of pancreatitis and kidney disease and in use as a contraceptive agent.
