PURPOSE: To provide a cathode-ray tube in which a natural uniform sense of a luminescent brightness and a contrast is obtained over the entire face part. CONSTITUTION: The cathode-ray rube has a panel provided with a colored layer 8 on an outer surface of a face part 2. At an image display area of the face part 2, a luminescent brightness ratio at the lowest position is 75% or more to that at the highest position and a diffuse reflectance ratio of the panel at the lowest position is 90% or more to that at the highest position.
