PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing an expansion joint is provided to minimize the corrosion of an expansion joint by forming a Teflon layer of high corrosion resistance on the inner face of the expansion joint. CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing an expansion joint comprises the steps of processing a Teflon pipe by the diameter the same as that of a joint body(A), forming a flange corresponding to the flange of the joint body by pressurizing both ends of the Teflon pipe using a bulged die after inserting the Teflon pipe into the joint body(B), thermally treating the Teflon pipe at a specific temperature in an oven after fixing closing members having air injecting holes with connecting flanges to both ends of the Teflon pipe(C), closely adhering the Teflon pipe to the inner face of the joint body by injecting air through the air injecting holes(D), forming a Teflon layer on the inner face of the joint body by quenching the Teflon pipe(E), and testing and washing the expansion joint by removing the closing members(F).
