PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device of an image forming device where the surface temperature in the central part of a heating roll can be maintained constant and a stable image quality can be obtained. SOLUTION: In the device, a temperature detecting element 6 is abutted on a heat transmitting roll 7 that is placed in a position facing the heating roll 1 and is rotated with a heat transmitting roll 7, the surface temperature of the heating roll 1 is indirectly detected with the temperature detecting element 6 through the heat transmitting roll 7 and the surface temperature of the heating roll 1 is maintained constant by controlling a heater by utilizing a heater control means.
