PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To assure an excellent engine performance of an internal combustion engine by preventing water droplets from being sucked into the internal combustion engine even if the water droplets invade into a cowling together with air when the air on the outside of the cowling is led to the inside thereof accompanying the driving of the internal combustion engine covered by the cowling. SOLUTION: An outboard motor 5 comprises an internal combustion engine 10 pivotally supported at the rear of a hull and a cowling 12 covering the internal combustion engine 10. An air inlet port 14 allowing air 13 to be led from the outside to the inside of the cowling 12 is formed at the rear upper part of the cowling 12, and an air intake opening allowing the air 13 to be sucked from the outside to the inside of the internal combustion engine 10 is positioned at the front of the internal combustion engine 10. An air guide means 48 is disposed inside the cowling 12 near the underside of the air inlet 14 to guide the air 13 immediately after being led into the cowling 12 through the air inlet 14 so as to move along the rear side of the hull 3 in longitudinal direction. |
