PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silver halide photographic sensitive material comprising a silver halide emulsion having a high silver chloride content and giving a stable high-grade printed image at all times by any of analog and digital exposure systems independently of the time from exposure to the start of development. SOLUTION: In the silver halide emulsion containing silver halide grains having >=90 mol% silver chloride content and containing an iridium compound A and a compound B which functions as a stronger electron trap than the compound A when doped under the same conditions in the same grains, >=50% of the sliver halide grains contained in the silver halide emulsion satisfy the relations of 10<X<1,000 and 0<Y<=X (where X is the average number of contained molecules of the iridium compound A per one silver halide grain and Y is the average number of contained molecules of the compound B per one silver halide grain).
