A device for mixing liquids and gases uses a gas-liquid mist mixture which is deviated once through the device. The guiding cross-section is reduced after changing direction. An independent claim is also included for a process for mixing liquids and gases. Preferred Features: A deviating angle of 90[deg] or more is present in the device. The gas-liquid mist mixture is only produced in the device. One or more gas nozzles introduce the gas directly into the liquid stream produced from one or more atomizing nozzles.
