PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup and an optical disk device in which the number of parts and, therefore, the cost of manufacturing are reduced. SOLUTION: The optical pickup includes an optical converging means 26 that focuses an optical beam emitted from a light source 21 on the signal recording face of a rotatably driven optical disk, a collimator lens 24 arranged between the light source and the light converging means, an optical splitting means 23 arranged between the light source and the collimator lens, and a photodetector 29 having a light-receiving part for receiving a return light beam, which is a beam split by the optical splitting means 23, returning from the signal recording face of the optical disk. In this case, the collimator lens 24 is composed as a toric lens since equipped with a function for compensating astigmatism contained in the light beam from the light source. |
