POLYCARBONATE RESIN AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polycarbonate resin excellent in processability. SOLUTION: The polycarbonate resin is obtained by reacting 9, 9-bis(4- hydroxy-3-methylphenyl)fluorene (abbreviated to BCFL hereafter) and a bisphenol compound having a structure represented by general formula (A) with a compound capable of forming a carbonic ester, wherein the amount of the compound having a structure of formula (A) is 10-80 wt.% based on the total of the BCFL and the compound having the structure of formula (A). The obtained polycarbonate resin has an intrinsic viscosity of 0.2-2.0 dl/g. Examples of bisphenol compounds having the structure of formula (A) include compounds represented by the structural formulas.
