PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing aluminum base material for a cooker in which adhesive properties with a fluororesin coated layer are remarkably improved, and also, pinholes are not generated on the fluororesin coated layer by an improved electrochemical etching treating method. SOLUTION: This method for producing an aluminum base material for a cooker includes a stage in which an alternating current or a pulse current or half-wave rectification is applied on an aluminum base material in an aqueous solution in which the concentration of chlorine ions is controlled to >=0.1 wt.%, and also, pH is controlled to 0.01 to 3.0, and the surface is subjected to electrochemical etching treatment, and further, in the method for producing a fluororesin coated material for the cooker, the surface of the aluminum base material for the cooker is, if required, formed with an anodically oxidized film and is thereafter formed with a fluororesin coating film.
