PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bill processing apparatus having a reciprocating mechanism of a simple constitution. SOLUTION: A pair of link mechanisms 13 of the reciprocating mechanism 10 are connected together via a connection 16 in a predetermined position and an actuating element 14 is coupled to the connection 16 and brought into linear reciprocating movement in a predetermined direction such that the pair of link mechanisms 13 expand and contract.
