PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a porous film which is excellent in leak prevention properties and is useful as a back sheet for an absorbent article. SOLUTION: This porous film is prepared by at least monoaxially stretching a film mainly comprising 40-55 wt.% polyolefin resin and 60-45 wt.% inorganic filler and is characterized in that the ratio of thickness (B:μm) to wt. per area (A:g/m2) is represented by the expression: (B/A)>=1.0; the maximum pore size is 2.0 7.t m or less; the oozing start time is 10 min or more; the moisture permeability is 500-5,000 g/m2.24 h; and the wt. per area is 10-60 g/m2.
