摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for forming a cathode consisting of a metal film with good adhesion and to provide a light emitting device with satisfactory display image quality. SOLUTION: An EL element having a structure in which an electron transport layer consisting of a low molecular film is provided on a luminous layer 104 consisting of a polymer film, and the cathode 106 of the metal film is provided thereon is formed. According to such a structure, the film peeling or generation of dark spot resulted from the poor adhesion of the cathode 106 can be prevented, and a light emitting device with good image quality can be provided. Such a structure having the low molecular film provided between the polymer film and the metal film is effective also when a carrier injection layer consisting of a low molecular film is provided on the carrier transport layer consisting of the polymer film.
