PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat assisting magnetic head capable of preventing a phenomenon of signal erasure caused by heating an adjacent track, and a heat assisting magnetic recording device using the same. SOLUTION: This heat assisting magnetic head is disposed oppositely to a recording medium 10, and capable of recording magnetic information by applying a recording magnetic field to a recording layer having coercive force reduced by heating the magnetic medium to increase its temperature. This heat assisting magnetic head is provided with a slider 1 disposed oppositely to the recording medium, an emission part 2 disposed at the medium opposing surface of the slider 1 to emit the energy ray of a heating means to the recording medium, and plural magnetic recording elements 3 and 4 disposed on positions passed through the center part of the emission part 2 in the medium opposing surface of the slider 1, and symmetrical in the rotational direction of the recording medium 10 to apply the recording magnetic field to the recording layer, and the heat assisting magnetic recording device uses this head.
