The invention concerns a method for making a crawler consisting of a continuous belt in the circumferential direction made of elastomeric material and comprising an inner surface and an outer surface, the inner surface being provided with a plurality of driving elements arranged uniformly in the circumferential direction. Said method comprises a step which consists in assembling an inner mould (10) formed by first and second half-moulds (11, 12), said two half-moulds axially mobile relative to each other to be urged in contact on one the other along a joint surface. The internal mould (10) comprises a radially outer setting surface (100) provided with a plurality of cavities (103) uniformly spaced for moulding the driving elements, each cavity being axially defined by two side walls (111, 112), the joint surface (13) of the two half-moulds being axially closer to a side wall than to the other side wall.
