The invention relates to a gaiter (14) produced from a web-shaped cut of a flexible material, especially a leather cut that is laid around a gaiter longitudinal axis (A) as a tubular shaft element (14) that has a variable diameter and whose lateral edges (28) are parallel to the gaiter longitudinal axis (A) and can be linked with one another. The gaiter (14) is at least once subdivided into separate gaiter sections (16, 18) transversally to the gaiter longitudinal axis (A). Said gaiter sections overlap one another on neighboring longitudinal edges (29) and are adapted to be linked in different degrees of overlapping (e). The gaiter sections (16, 18) can be displaced parallel to the gaiter longitudinal axis (A) and relative to one another and can be fixed on one another to varying shaft heights (h). At least one gaiter section (16) is provided, on its longitudinal edge (29) associated with the other gaiter section (18), with at least one tongue-shaped strip extending therefrom that can be detachably fastened on the other gaiter section. |
