<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved image processing method capable of solving the problem of the conventional technology, and using edge reformation for enhancing the appearance of an image. SOLUTION: This digital image processing method includes a step for transforming a digital image, by using edge-sensitive wavelet transformation so as to generate plural wavelet coefficients and residual images in various resolutions, a step for changing the wavelet coefficient as a function of an image gradient and the rate of change in the resolution corresponding to each wavelet coefficient, and a step for executing inverse transformation of the changed wavelet coefficients and the residual images, so as to generate the processed digital image.</p> |
