PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effect proper operation of a vending machine while increasing profit. SOLUTION: The vending machine includes an integrating wattmeter 4 for measuring the amount of electric power consumed by the vending machine, a sales control part 13 generating product sales information, and a main control part 16 for controlling the power-saving operation of the machine based on the power consumption measured with the integrating wattmeter 4 and the sales information generated by the sales control part 13. The integrating wattmeter 4 measures the amount of electric power consumed by the vending machine and the sales control part 13 generates product sales information; the main control part 16 controls the power-saving operation of the vending machine based on the power consumption measured with the integrating wattmeter 4 and the sales information generated by the sales control part 13. The vending machine can thus be operated at a power consumption rate matching sales.
