PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a contents managing method to enable a user to easily use contents even when copyright protection technology is applied to the contents by managing use restriction of the contents. SOLUTION: Contents use right information CUD is compared with status code information SC to indicate use state of the contents CT, when the status code information SC exists within a range of the contents use right information CUD, the status code information SC is compared with output setting information OI having a threshold within the range of the contents use right information CUD when warning information data that the use restriction of the contents CT approaches and when the status code information SC exceeds the output setting information OI, the warning information data WID is outputted.
