PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a canned linear motor armature and a canned linear motor which can eliminate the heating of a can, etc., which is caused by an eddy current, can be applied to a high speed application and, further, can suppress the vibration of the coil fixing frame. SOLUTION: The stator (armature) 100 of this canned linear motor comprises a coil fixing frame 109, armature coils 108 fixed to the coil fixing frame 109, a metal housing 101 surrounding the coil fixing frame 109 in the shape of a picture frame, cans 102 closing airtight both openings of the housing 101, coolant paths 110 formed in enclosed spaces made by the metal housing 101 and the cans 102 in order to cool the armature coils 108 with the coolant, and a coolant supply inlet 106 and a coolant drain outlet 107 provided on the supply side and drain side of the coolant paths 110 respectively. The cans 102 are made of resin, particularly resin containing with glass fibers or carbon fibers.
