PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a uniform display by eliminating the unevenness in density of display in a liquid crystal display device in which C-R charging and discharging circuits are formed by resistive components of the liquid crystal display device, a scanning signal waveform and a signal line driving waveform are rounded and effective voltage to be applied to display pixels is changed to generate unevenness in density of display. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device is provided with a liquid crystal layer, a liquid crystal panel in which pixels 30 are provided at positions where strip-shaped signal lines 31 and scanning lines 32 disposed across the liquid crystal layer intersect in a matrix shape, a signal line driving circuit 33 and a scanning line driving circuit 34. This device is further provided with an arithmetic circuit 38 for applying a prescribed operation to detection data obtained from a detecting means and a waveform width adjusting means for modulating the widths of scanning line waveforms to be transmitted to scanning lines on the basis of calculation results of the arithmetic circuit 38.
