<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently transmit the packets of long data without deteriorating the transmission efficiency and without the need for revising the header configuration. SOLUTION: The communication system where a packet having a header of a prescribed form consisting of a packet length information part of at least a fixed length and of a fixed length redundant information part is used to transmit data by the length of packet expressed by the packet length information part, is provided with a means 117 that selects an extension mode when the transmission quality is warranted, a multiplexer means 1116 that generates a header by using the packet length information part and the redundant information part for an extended packet length information part through the mode change, uses the header, and generates packets each storing data by the packet length expressed in the length of the extended packet length information part and a means that transmits the packet generated by the multiplexer means.</p> |
