PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an abnormality monitoring system capable of detecting the disconnection and the short circuit, and getting the detailed information on a position of the disconnection and the short circuit. SOLUTION: In this abnormality monitoring system including reed switches operated by the tension applied to a sensor cable, in tension sensors mounted at predetermined interval in a monitoring zone, and transmitting an opening and closing signal of the reed switch by a pair of signal wires, terminal ends of the pair of signal wires are short-circuited, and a disconnection position detecting means transmitting a pulse for measuring an open mode distance to the signal wires and detecting the position of the disconnection by a level of the reflected pulse, and a warning position detecting means transmitting a pulse for measuring a close mode distance to the signal wires and detecting a warning position, are mounted on the monitoring station side.
