PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance availability of the entire network system without revising a device loaded with an existing channel multiplexing technology. SOLUTION: An information network 200 transmits/receives a signal from an information repeater 20 via information repeaters 21, 22 relaying a signal outputted from the information repeater 20 between the information repeater 20 and a terminal 23 each provided with an existing channel multiplexer section 39. The information repeaters 21, 22 cross-reference LAN channels between the information repeater 20 and the terminal 23 as the same group and monitor the LAN channels. When the information repeaters 21, 22 detect a fault, the information repeaters 21, 22 interrupt all LAN channels belonging to the same group as a LAN channel having the fault and urge the channel multiplexer section 39 in the repeater 20 and the terminal 23 to use other LAN channels having no fault and continue communication.
