Process for pre-treating a fiber suspension in a lining comprises treating a part of the surfaces of the lining by coating with a nitride and/or braze coating. An Independent claim is also included for a lining for pre-treating a fiber suspension. Preferred Features: The surfaces of the lining to be treated are treated by plasma nitriding or gas nitriding. The surfaces treated by braze coating are subjected to chromium, tungsten nitride, titanium dioxide and sintered metals.
