The free-fall tower (10) has a vertical rail system (28) for movement of a passenger carriage (20) from the base to the top of the tower, before free-fall of the passenger carriage from the top of the tower. The passenger carriage is rotated about a vertical axis (17) adjacent the top of the tower, for transfer to a different rail system used for the free-fall of the passenger carriage.
