摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a binder material for a refractory, which is homogeneous as a raw material and suitable for a refractory suffering from severe corrosion by fused slag in a melting furnace of garbage incineration ash, melting furnace for a nuclear reactor waste or the like. SOLUTION: The refractory binder material is obtained by adding a specified amount of a sintering assistant consisting of SiO2 powder and MgO powder to Cr2O3 powder having substantially <=0.5 &mu;m average particle size, then adding a specified mount of Al2O3 powder having <=0.5 &mu;m average particle size, sintering the mixture powder in a vacuum atmosphere of 10-20 to 10-5 atm oxygen partial pressure at 1,300 to 1,600 deg.C, then pulverizing the sintered body.
