PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a lithium double oxide and its product having high reproducibility of characteristics relating to the quality and excellent mass productivity without causing changes in the mixture composition ratio of lithium to nickel in the method for producing a lithium double oxide including processes of: mixing lithium compound powder and compound powder essentially comprising nickel; granulating; aerating; and calcining the mixture. SOLUTION: After the source powder is mixed in a dry state, water is added by spraying to increase the bonding properties, and the mixture is continuously molded and calcined while aerated in an oxidative gas to obtain the lithium double oxide. The mixing ratio of lithium to nickel can be securely maintained and the reproducibility for the quality can be kept by controlling the amount of added water to 5 to 30 wt.% of the mixture powder and controlling the molding density of the granulated product to 1.0 to 2.5 g/cc. The lithium double oxide obtained by this method can be used as the active material for a nonaqueous secondary cell which maintains high voltage and high energy. |
