PHOTORECEPTION MEMBER AND ELECTROPHOTOGRAPHIC DEVICE USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoreception member which has sufficiently high durability to maintain its characteristics without causing melt sticking of a toner on a drum surface and with which high definition and high quality images can be obtained even in a severe use environment. SOLUTION: In the photoreception member having at least a photoconductive layer consisting of a non single crystal material essentially comprising silicon atoms on a conductive substrate, the photoreception member has a surface layer as its outermost surface and has at least a smooth layer comprising non single crystal carbon containing at least hydrogen atoms and halogen atoms formed between the surface layer and the photoconductive layer. The surface roughness Rz of the surface layer is <200Åwhen the measurement length is 5μm. The electrophotographic device uses this photoreception member.
