PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating type gas barrier film which has an excellent gas barrier property even under high humidity and does not affect environments. SOLUTION: This gas barrier film obtained by forming on at least one side of a substrate film a coating film comprising a 40/60 to 60/40 (solid content weight ratio) emulsion mixture of a polyacrylonitrile-based emulsion having a particle diameter distribution having a monodispersion degreeβof <1.05 defined by the expression (1):β=Mv/Mn (Mv is a volume-average diameter of emulsion particles; Mn is a number-average diameter) with a polyacrylonitrile- based emulsion having a particle diameter distribution having a monodispersion degreeβof >=1.05.
