PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for safely and easily treating a non-aqueous waste fluid. SOLUTION: This method is as follows: (1) A method for treating a waste fluid, characterized by comprising solidifying it in the presence of an oil- absorptive polymer and/or an oil and water-absorptive powder when treating the waste fluid in the presence of water and a polymeric material having water- absorptive gelatinization ability; (2) wherein 2-100 wt.% of the polymeric material having water-absorptive gelatinization ability and 2-20 wt.% of the oil- absorptive polymer each based on the waste fluid are used, (3) wherein 2-100 wt.% of the polymeric material having water-absorptive gelatinization ability and 2-20 wt.% of the oil and water-absorptive powder each based on the waste fluid are used, (4) wherein 2-100 wt.% of the polymeric material having water- absorptive gelatinization ability, 2-20 wt.% of the oil-absorptive polymer and 20-100 wt.% of the oil and water-absorptive powder each based on the waste fluid are used.
