摘要 PURPOSE: To provide a light source device which can efficiently emit light to an object coping with the shape of the object to which, light is to be irradiated. CONSTITUTION: Light source devices 41A, 41B, 41C, have lenses 44A, 44B, 44C receiving light emitted from a light emitting element 43 like LED. The lenses 44A and the allied items have such a characteristics that the light emission directivity in Y-direction is stronger than that in X-direction, namely, the light emitted from the light emitting element 43 in Y-direction is converged into narrow-angled area, and dispersed to a wide-angled area in X-direction. When the light source devices 41A and the allied items are used as a light source of light source device of liquid crystal device, the direction of the height of a light guide body, namely, the direction of short side is made to coincide with Y-direction, and the direction of the width of the light guide body, namely, the direction of long side is made to coincide with X-direction.
