PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a surface protective film good in initial adhesion to an adherend and readily peelable when peeled from the adherend after application without causing fouling, a residual paste or an applied mark on the adherend surface. SOLUTION: This surface protective film is obtained by laminating and integrating a substrate layer comprising a thermoplastic resin with an adhesive mass layer which comprises at least one kind selected from a polyisoprene rubber, a polyisobutylene rubber and a butyl rubber having 10,000-45,000 weight- average molecular weight in an amount of 5-100 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. of a hydrogenated material of a styrene-conjugated diene-based elastomer.
