PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper feeder capable of dispensing with a special space for unlocking without damaging a shaft, and a fixed base, and allowing a sliding control board to be fully slid, to save the space and to improve the operatability. SOLUTION: This paper feeder comprises a base member 54 for loading the recording paper, a slide member 7 formed by standing a paper control board part 12 for controlling an end of the recording paper, on a sliding part 9 sliding to the base member 5, a guide member 5b for guiding the slide member 7, a first roller 22 mounted movably between the slide member 7 and the base member 5, a first energizing means 20 for energizing the first roller 22 in one of the sliding directions of the slide member 7, and a disenergizing means for moving the first roller 2 in the direction opposite to the energizing direction of the first energizing means 20, and a space between the slide member and the base member 5 has a part smaller than a diameter of the first roller 22.
