PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of treating the surface of a long-sized product even without skill, causing no environmental problem. SOLUTION: This method of treating the surface of the long-sized product includes a process of fitting powder and grain in a container, constituting the inside of the container to allow the long-sized product to pass through and bringing the surface of the long-sized product into contact with the powder and grain by passing the long-sized product through the inside of the container; and a process of discharging fine powder produced from the contact and from the mutual contact of the powder and grain, or/and foreign matters chipped from a workpiece surface, to the outside of the container, with gas flow flowing through the inside of the container.
