PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tape cutter capable of pasting a Cellotape (a registered trade mark) or the like directly to a pasted surface with single-hand operation and easily and accurately positioning the end of the tape on a pasting starting line. SOLUTION: This tape cutter comprises a storage portion in which the rolled tape T is mounted and a cutting edge 3 for cutting the tape after pulled out. A temporarily mounted member 4 formed of a flexible and expandable material is provided at the inside adjacent to the cutting edge 3 in the same plane as a plane of the cutting edge 3 so as to hold the tape T at both sides. Thus, the cut tape T is securely held at its end right near the inside of the cutting edge 3.
