Installation for conveying individuals from a valley station (10) to a mountain station (20) and for carrying individuals down from the mountain station (20) to the valley station (10) by means of carriages (23) which are guided along a track formed by a running rail (21), having a cableway system (1) which has a haulage cable (11) and transporting means (13) which can be coupled thereto and are intended for individuals and conveying means (13a) for conveying the carriages (23) from the valley station (10) to the mountain station (20), it being the case that the haulage cable (11) is guided over cable-deflecting pulleys (12, 12a) in the valley station (10) and in the mountain station (20), and provided in the valley station (10) and in the mountain station (20) are guide rails (14, 15) along which the conveying means (13a) and transporting means (13) uncoupled from the haulage cable (11) can be guided around the cable-deflecting pulleys (12, 12a) by means of conveying wheels. Bypass rails (31, 31a) are connected here to the guide rails (14, 15) via diverters (32, 33; 32a, 33a) both in the valley station (10) and in the mountain station (20), said bypass rails containing locations (34, 34a) respectively for coupling to the conveying means (13a) the carriages (23) which have been fed to the valley station (10) via the running rail (21) and for uncoupling from the conveying means (13a) the carriages (23) located in the mountain station (20), and for transferring the latter carriages to the running rail (21)(figure 1).
