PURPOSE: A control method of an automatic ice maker is provided to remove or reduce noise by delaying ice separation from an ice tray during specific time. CONSTITUTION: A time setting page is displayed if a user selects a silent mode icon on a refrigerator function selecting page(S1). The user selects silent mode setting time on the time setting page(S3). Then, the user selects an ice separation stop icon to delay ice separation from an ice tray(S5). In the selected silent mode setting time(S6), a control unit decides if the temperature of the ice tray meets the ice separation conditions(S7). If so, the control unit moves ice pieces in the ice tray into an ice case by driving an ice separation motor(S9). The user selects a slow ice separation speed icon(S13). If the ice tray meets ice separation conditions(S15), the ice separation motor separates ice pieces at a low speed during set time(S17). Thereby, noise in the ice separation process is reduced. If the user selects an ice-making period mode(S19), the ice-making time is delayed. If the ice tray meets the ice separation conditions(S21), ice pieces starts to be separated(S23). The noise in ice separation is reduced as the ice separating is delayed during specific time.
