PURPOSE: An apparatus for measuring contamination of a developer of a printer is provided to measure a degree of contamination of yellow, magenta and cyan developers and to replace the developers with new developers at appropriate time. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for measuring contamination of a color developer of a printer includes a light source unit(101a,101b,101c), a light detector(102a,102b,102c), a reference signal providing unit, and a comparison and judgement unit(105). The light detector receives lights that are emitted from the light source unit and passed through the color developer. The reference signal providing unit provides a reference signal for the color developer. The comparison and judgement unit compares the signal detected by the light detector with the reference signal to judge a degree of contamination of the color developer.
