PURPOSE: A trail retrieval method in a transmission network is provided to rapidly and simply carry out path retrieval in a transmission system. CONSTITUTION: If trail retrieval is started for the first time, setup for trail retrieval is generated. And the first node(A) is set up as tNode. In case that the first node is connected to the next node, the node value is increased(310). If the first node receives a node retrieval signal(check_signal)(320), the first node searches for a port corresponding to the next node, based on xc or Payload(330). After allocating a port value for the next node, the first node executes a trail setup call(340). Continuously checking nodes until the destination, the first node checks whether a NOT_OK feedback is generated in a specific node(350).
