<p>A process for the preparation of β-amino alcohols in syn configuration as represented by the general formula (2): RaC*H(OH)-C*H(Rb)-Rc [wherein Ra and Rc are each optionally substituted alkyl or the like; Rb is a group selected from among those represented by the formulae (3) to (6): (3)R1CO(R2)N-, (4)R1CO(R1'CO)N-, (5)R1SO2(R2)N-, and (6)R1R2N- (wherein R?1, R1', and R2¿ are each optionally substituted alkyl or the like); and C* represents an asymmetric carbon atom], which comprises reacting an a-aminocarbonyl compound of the general formula (1): R¿a?-CO-CH(Rb)-Rc with hydrogen or a hydrogen donor in the presence of a transition metal compound and a base.</p> |
