The computer body (3) fits into a slot in the support (6) which carries a document supporting surface (15) over the keyboard area of the laptop. A separate keyboard (9) is plugged into the laptop to enable it to be operated. The display panel (4) of the laptop is held at an appropriate position and documents can be freely consulted. An Independent claim is included for a method of using a portable computer.
