PURPOSE: A license plate of a vehicle is provided to solve the problems due to discrimination impossibility of a license plate in the dark by emitting light even when a lamp is turned off. CONSTITUTION: A license plate of a vehicle has characters(6) on a plate body(4). A black light paint(8) is coated on the characters. A lamp of a license plate(2) is preferably an ultraviolet bulb to obtain an ideal emitting effect. The wavelength of the light emitted from the ultraviolet bulb is 320-380mm. The lamp is turned on upon turn-on of a headlight of a vehicle at night. The light emitted from the lamp reflects on the luminous paint(8') or mixed paint(8"). Then, the black light paint is clearly emitted by the ultraviolet waves irradiated from the lamp.
